How to install PREPRUFE® Plus waterproofing on straight edge penetrations
PREPRUFE® Plus detailing of straight edge penetrations, used for columns, h-piles, breakers and any penetration with straight smooth sides. This video shows:
- Preparing substrate of compacted earth, stone, or a mud slab
- Unrolling Preprufe, cutting and using PREPRUFE® tape where needed
- Sealing with BITUTHENE® Liquid Membrane and re-inforcing with PREPRUFE® CJ tape and adding waterstops.
How to install PREPRUFE® Plus waterproofing around pipe penetrations
PREPRUFE® Plus detailing around pipe penetrations. Pipe penetrations include anything round and smooth, coming from vertical or horizontal surfaces, typically plumbing and electrical penetrations, or round concrete piles. This video shows:
- Preparing and cutting PREPRUFE® Membrane
- Using PREPRUFE® Tape around those penetrations
- Applying BITUTHENE® Liquid Membrane
- Installing Target patch. Sealing with PREPRUFE® Tape and adding waterstops.
How to install PREPRUFE® Plus waterproofing on an elevated slab
Using BITUTHENE® tie-in for elevated slabs, this detail is to transition from BITUTHENE® membrane applied to a foundation wall, like an elevator pit wall or ejector pit, to under slab PREPRUFE® membrane. This video also shows:

- Installing PREPRUFE® sheet membrane and termination bar
- Second installation of BITUTHENE® Liquid membrane

Install PREPRUFE® Plus waterproofing Rebar & All-Threaded Penetrations (A: with BITUTHENE® Membrane)
PREPRUFE® Plus detailing of rebar in all-thread penetrations. This video covers any penetrations less than 1 inch in diameter or with an irregular surface. The installation of option A assumes BITUTHENE® membrane is available, if it is not, refer to option B video. This detail can be performed on horizontal surfaces with penetrations which include rebar, dowell and all-thread, and it can be performed on vertical surfaces. In this video, we show cutting of PREPRUFE® membrane, target patches, taping and installing waterstops.

PREPRUFE® Plus detailing of wall penetrations in all-thread penetrations which may include any penetrations less than 1 inch in diameter or with an irregular surface. This detail can be performed on horizontal surfaces with penetrations which include rebar, dowell and all-thread, and it can be performed on vertical surfaces. PREPRUFE® Plus tie-in to wall. This detail is used to transition from underslab PREPRUFE to a vertical surface. The video includes preparing the substrate, positioning the membrane, reinforcing slab joint, protecting from over-splash and installing waterstop.
