System Components
Rigid mineral wool board; accessories include Monokote® FireProtect™ pigtail screws for fastening, Monokote® FireProtect™ Noggins for beams and columns, and Monokote® Flute Fillers for deck applications.
Dimensions and Packaging
Board: 47 ¼ L x 39 ⅜ W; Thicknesses: ¾-4 in (20–100mm); Density:10 pcf (~150 kg/m³) ; Supplied on wooden pallets, stacked or packaged; accessories packaged in labeled boxes.
Installation
Monokote® FireProtect™ is supplied in a standard board size 47 ¼ L x 39 ⅜ W (1200mm x 1000mm) with thicknesses ranging from ¾-4 in (20–100mm), palletized and shrink- wrapped. The board can be cut using a table/hand saw or knife. Noggings 4’’ (100mm) wide x 1 ⅝” (40mm) minimum thickness are cut to fit tightly between the flanges 24’’ on center. For deck applications it is fastened directly to the deck using standard deck screws.
Monokote® FireProtect™ is cut and installed to box the steel and is held in place with Monokote® FireProtect™ Screws at 6’’ on center. Refer to the UL Fire Resistance directory for the UL Designs and details. Please refer to our field Installation manual for specific design and application details.
