NULAIR® 20 is a liquid air-detraining admixture that is used to reduce the level of plastic air in non air-entrained concrete. NULAIR® 20 weighs approximately 8.7 lbs/gal (1.0 kg/L). NULAIR® 20 does not contain intentionally added chloride.
NULAIR® 20 air detraining admixture, may be used wherever it is desired to decrease the plastic air content in non air-entrained concrete. This includes the following:
- Ready mix concrete
- Precast concrete
- Interior flatwork
- Architectural concrete
- Heavyweight concrete
- Polished exposed aggregate concrete
There is no standard addition rate for NULAIR® 20. Typical NULAIR® 20 addition rates range from 0.25 to 3 fl oz/100 lbs (15 to 200 mL/100 kg) of cementitious material. NULAIR® 20 dosage rates will be dependent on the level of air detrainment required. Pretesting of concrete should be performed to confirm dosage rates required to achieve desired concrete performance. Addition rates may vary depending on materials, job conditions and desired performance characteristics. Please consult your GCP Applied Technologies representative for information and assistance.

Compatibility with Other Admixtures and Batch Sequencing
NULAIR® 20 air detrainer is compatible with most GCP admixtures as long as they are added separately to the concrete mix, usually through the water holding tank discharge line. In general, it is recommended that the product be added to the concrete mix near the end of the batch sequence for optimum performance. Please see GCP Technical Bulletin TB-0110, Admixture Dispenser Discharge Line Location and Sequencing for Concrete Batching Operations for further recommendations.
Pretesting of the concrete mix should be performed before use, and as conditions and materials change in order to assure compatibility, and to optimize dosage rates, addition times in the batch sequencing and concrete performance. Please consult your GCP Applied Technologies representative for guidance.
Packaging & Handling
NULAIR® 20 air detrainer is available in 275 gal (1040 L) totes, 55 gal (208 L) drums, and 3.5 gal (13 L) pails. The product will begin to freeze at approximately 32°F (0°C) and cannot regain full performance after thawed. The product will begin to eparate at approximately 100°F (40°C).
A complete line of accurate, automatic dispensing equipment is available. Typically, NULAIR® 20 air detrainer is hand dosed at the job site.
